More Captain Cesc interviews

Here is a video of Cesc Fabregas’s post match interviews on ITV and Skysport, and Arsenal’s goal. It’s a little out-of-sync on the ITV part sorry.

Denilson backs Captain Cesc

Denilson told Arsenal.com he expects Cesc to flourish in his new role as captain, he said He’s a big player, the man who has the boss’ trust. He’s only 21 but with a lot of experience and he is approved of as a captain.

“He did demonstrate some personality on the pitch and he was helped by Gallas, Silvestre and Almunia because it was his first time [as captain]. Everyone knows it’s not easy but he had a great performance and showed some character.”

  1. He handles the media well. I really liked his answer when the skysports guy said “If you are 13 points behind are you out of it” and he came straight back - no pause, no nothing - “I don’t think about that, we can talk after the game, but I just go there 100% to win” Such a good answer, nice side-step lol

  2. This might be a stupid question but what does the CEO of the club do. Does anyone know who is Ivan Gazidis and do I need to care?

  3. Thanks so much for the video so cute la XD)

  4. Hi Bri :D He’s not going to play for us so it’s hard to get too interested. Basically, if he does his job well it will hopefully mean the club will have more money for transfers, we’ll be better at negotiating contracts for new and with existing players and it might mean Arsene can concentrate on the football rather than the business side of the club. Seems this dude basically headed up MLS in the US he seems to have a good reputation and that’s all I know.

  5. Gazidis is important I suppose but he isn’t a proven striker, he can’t play DM, he isn’t a winger with great control who can always turn in tight spaces, he isn’t a hulking big CB and he isn’t good looking so really I can’t work up much interest :D

Seriously, though he’s supposed to be a very very smart man so let’s hope he can do good things for the club :D

  6. thanks for piccies and vidz!!!!!! =)

  7. I didn’t see that ITV interview before now so basically the ref told Dynamo it’s Arsenal’s ball and so Cesc grabbed it and off he went, well sounds fair and legal to me. :D Well done that man!

  8. Thanks siew lan and fonz you are very welcome :D

  9. Thanks it was a great great pass from cesc for the gol!!

  10. Thanks for posting this. I reckon it would have been Henry that he has spoken too. Don’t know why he wouldn’t say…

  11. Great video Cesc really shows he is going to be great captain for
Arsenal. He shows he loves arsenal and wants to do everthing for his team mates. He really wants to win a trophy this season.
Lets hope we can beat chelsea on sunday came on you gunners.

In this pic you can see where Cesc breaks nose yes? a little? I think so but he is still handsome captain!

  13. Hi meri :D I think you are right in some photos where Cesc is in profile you can see a little bump from where he broke his nose, it’s not very noticeable tho :D

Hi Jimbo :D It probably was Titi and I don’t know why Cesc didn’t say… maybe he didn’t want to admit keeping in touch with another Barcelona player LOL cos that always goes over so well haha or maybe he wasn’t sure if Titi would want him to say… or maybe Cesc is just a secret squirrel kind of guy lol

Hi Diane :D I have everything crossed!! even my eyes!! for Sunday. We are going to have a challenge on our hands that’s for sure but we can do it!

  14. I think we can win on Sunday! I’m nervous but I still think we can pull it off. I made my first ever bet a couple of weeks ago when I bet Arsenal would beat Manchester United 2-1 and that worked out quite nicely lol so I am going to put another bet on and see if it turns out to be lucky again :D

  15. hey mj, jimbo
i guess tt he’s trying to b fair and not be biased here.
he stated earlier tt he contacted one of the previous three captains. gallas, henry and viera.
of cuz he wun go about to say he toked to the specific one of them, which i tink will very much affect the relationsip, professionally or personally, with the other two captains, cuz media will start creating a BIG fuss out of it anyway.

and i really appreciate tt he kn how to handle things before the media. kudos for him! go Cap. Fab! :)

  16. i can’t believe i finally found a decent cesc fan site. believe me, i have been trying to find one but it was rather difficult. anyway, congrats i like your website. all the best to the team.

    cesc is captain!

  17. Thanks for the videos. Still can’t get used to captain cesc!! lol can’t believe it but it’s cool :0)

  18. hi guys .
i didnt surf the web for a couple of days so i am a little bit late here as usual . i am sorry to tell you that i knew that fab is the new captain just today . i know , shocking ! but i really didnt get these news before today and when i saw him wearing the armband during dynamo match i thought that arsene made him the captain temporarly but i was happy to see him wearing it . i just thought god simply it suits him .

guys dont get me wrong i am overjoyed that he is - finally - the captain this has been my wish for a pretty long time but is this really the right decision from arsene ? i am 100 % behind cesc but i think he is just too young to be the captain . he has the needed personality to do the job but lets face it he is too young . giving him the armband just happened without a warning and in a very moody circumstances .
his next game in the EPL will be against chelsea and this game will be vital to us and this will put even more pressure on him . chelsea is a strong team and they kept a very good sheet at the stamford bridge 85 games without a loss until this season .
if i were arsene and in different conditions i would have given the armband to toure . right now i guess he is the right person . he has been playiing in the 1st 11 for arsenal for pretty long time , he is one of the oldest players in the squad and he is quiet experienced but he is injured and this leads to fabregas as the best option and the last one . altough he is young but he owns the needed mentality and he has become quiet experienced too . i just wish he was a little bit older .
i hope days prove me wrong . i hope days prove that cesc’s age has nothing to do with leading the team as it has proved before that cesc’s age has nothing to do with his maturity .
in my humble opinion i guess that arsene had other reasons to choose cesc for leadership . arsene couldnt find any one else but cesc to lead the team not even gael who is said to be the vice captain right now , arsene wanted the fans by his side again and that what happened when they cheerd for cesc in the dynamo game , cesc is a leader by nature even outside the pitch and finally he represents arsenal powerfully off the pitch .
in the end it seems to me a desperate move from arsene to make cesc stay for another season or two especially afer i have read that arsene is going to offer cesc a new deal to extend his stay and pay him 100,000 a week .
when i see cesc talking in an interview after being a captain i feel he is a little bit shocked .
in the end i wanna say that i was truely overjoyed when i read the news but i got a little bit negative after i have read some comments on the web sugggesting thast this isnt the right choice to make .
    GO GUNNERS .
    GO FABREGAS .

  19. Kate you are a bit of a doom merchant aren’t you? Where to begin…

    1. Cesc is not even the youngest captain Arsenal has had.

    2. Arsene is not desperate why should he be desperate?

    3. The captaincy and the contract are un-connected. If Gallas had kept his mouth shut he would still be captain and Cesc would still be re-negotiating his contract now as there are new buy out rules and so players who are within 14 months of being able to buy out their contracts have to re-negotiate their contracts plain and simple.

    4. You have no reason to believe Cesc was going anywhere but this point has been made to you countless times before and you refuse to listen to anyone. Cesc has been with Arsenal for 5 years now and he has said he is committed and has shown his committment. If you don’t want to believe what Cesc says then that’s up to you.

I believe he loves Arsenal and I think he will be a good captain but if you feel negatively about it, you are entitled to your opinion.

  20. Kate you seem to be saying Toure should have been captain,,, you do realise that the captain has to be someone who will almost certainly always be picked to start when fit and that isn’t the case at the moment for Kolo. Arsene seems to prefer Gallas and Silvestre at the back.

I’m sure King Kolo will come back stronger than ever soon but I think Cesc was a better option anyway,,, because a captain must be able to handle the media and hes the best of our players for this. On the field I see no reason why there can’t be 11 captains. All players should step up and give 110% every game.

I don’t think Cesc is too young he’s not even the youngest captain Arsenal has had,,, as the legendary captain Tony Adams was about 4 months younger than Cesc when he was given the armband.

  21. Hi Sas–kie and Torres9 :D Thanks for your kind words, we are really glad you like the site!

Hi ay :D I agree Cesc is very media saavy!

Hi Kate, I agree with Bri and George try not to be down and also there is no reason, no proof at all, to think so badly of Arsene. I am sure Arsene did what he always does - he made the best decision he could for the club. We like to think we know a lot but really we don’t know the players, the personalities and what is happening at the club very well at all, but Arsene does and he is a man of principle, he will have done the right thing.
