Former Arsenal Skipper, Cesc Fabregas praised the English premier League side for their astonishing and consistent efforts this season. The Spaniard even ahead to choose four of Leicester players in his Premier League team of the season on Monday Night Football, where he was special guest.

Even as The Toffees demolished stoke city by four goals to nothing to move just five points clear of The Foxes with four games remaining, the current Chelsea playmaker picked Robert Huth, Riyad Mahrez, N’Golo Kante and Jamie Vardy in his list of players’ of the year.

Aside the four Leicester stars, there were three Spurs players in the list. They include current highest goal scorer in the league, Harry Kane, Spurs sensation this season, Dele Alli, Toby Alderweireld, and as well as David de Gea. The midfieder also mentioned Hector Bellerin, Ryan Bertrand and Dimitri Payet as valuable additions.

The six-man shortlist for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year released also include the Leicester City stars from Jamie Vardy, to Kante and talented Algerian, Riyad Mahrez. Aside The Foxes players, others on the PFA shortlist are West Ham’s Payet, Tottenham striker Kane and Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil for the 43rd PFA Awards to be held in London on Sunday.

When asked who he felt was Chelsea’s player of the year, the Ex-Gunner mentioned Willian. He said the Brazilian had been most consistent of the lot this season.

On how Chelsea started the rather disappointing season, especially since they were the current champions, Fabregas said the former Coach, Jose Mourinho, failed at Stamford Bridge because he put “too much trust” in the current crop of players.

The 28-year old Spain international said:

“I have huge respect for him.

“The biggest problem was he trusted us too much, gave us more holiday because we were champions and we let him down. That was the main reason he had to go – and for that, myself and the team feel bad.”
