Cesc Fabregas is set to remain at Stamford Bridge until the end of the season despite the lack of playtime, according to reports.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona playmaker has two years left on his current deal but is not in a hurry to leave the club.

Recent revelations place the player as one of the highest earning football stars at Chelsea FC. He reportedly earns £220,000 in weekly wages plus image rights, based on a report by The Times. The report say this was one of the reasons the club is open to trading him during the January transfer window, particularly as he remains frozen out from the manager’s plans.

The revelation is quite stunning as it means he earns more than Eden Hazard, Diego Costa, and other top stars that playing actively. The former Gunner has started just one game this season under Conte – the poor performance the team put up against Arsenal, losing 3-0. With the stability in the team, it is very unlikely that Fabregas’ fate would change anytime soon. Since the switch to the 3-4-3 formation, Chelsea have enjoyed a four-game winning run.

AC Milan is always an option for the World Cup winner as they have repeatedly shown interest. However, the 29-year old player is keen on spending his time at Chelsea. Reports making the rounds say the player wants to wait until the end of the season to re-assess.

Conte insists that there is no bad blood between him and the player. He says he still has the player in his plans but we are yet to see that. Aside Fabregas, out-of-favour defender Branislav Ivanovic has vowed to remain with the Blues. He says he would fight for a starting shirt despite the interests in him.
